Pregnancy Safe Essential Oils

It's important to be extra vigilant when we're caring for ourselves during pregnancy.  Lots of questions come up as to the safety of essential oils in pregnancy, so we've put together a quick reference list for you here!

The following essential oils are generally considered safe for use in pregnancy:

  • Balsam Fir

  • Bergamot

  • Black Pepper

  • Blue Tansy

  • Cardamom

  • Chamomile, German

  • Copaiba

  • Coriander

  • Cypress

  • Eucalyptus

  • Fennel

  • Frankincense

  • Geranium

  • Ginger

  • Grapefruit

  • Juniper Berry

  • Lavender

  • Lemon

  • Lemongrass

  • Lime

  • Marjoram

  • Myrrh

  • Myrtle

  • Neroli

  • Orange

  • Patchouli

  • Petitgrain

  • Pine

  • Rose, Otto

  • Sandalwood

  • Spruce

  • Tangerine

  • Tea Tree

  • Thyme

  • Ylang Ylang

The following oils are advised to avoid (unless otherwise directed by your health professional):

  • Carrot Seed

  • Clary Sage

  • Cinnamon

  • Clove

  • Tansy
